Five novels into this world now, and I realized I've never actually sat down and just introduced the two people at the center of all of it. Not a faction, not a threat, not a plot thread — just them. So here it is.

Evangeline and Adamocles Eden are Pre-Pangaean immortals. That's not a figure of speech — they were here before the continents were one piece of land, and they've been together, in some form, for longer than most civilizations have existed. Today, they co-founded and run the Eden Philanthropic Foundation, which is exactly as much a shield as it sounds like, and exactly as little a coincidence.

Eva is the one people underestimate, right up until they don't. She reads every heart in the room whether she wants to or not — her eyes actually tell you which mode she's in, if you know how to look: plain and calm when she's off duty, sharper when she's paying closer attention than you'd like, glowing when her power is genuinely pushing outward. She leads with empathy, not because it's soft, but because it's precise. She has never once needed to raise her voice to be the most dangerous person in a room.

Ado is stillness with consequences. Commanding, deliberate, immense — the kind of presence that changes a room's temperature before he says a word. His power runs on absorption and redirection: whatever hits him doesn't just fail, it becomes his. Where Eva reads, Ado holds the line.

And then there's what happens when they're actually together. Bonded, in proximity, their eyes both turn gold — not a metaphor, a literal, shared state. "We are one blade." Not two powerful people who happen to be a couple. One thing, split across two bodies, most of the time.

That's the actual center of this series. Everything else — the factions circling them, the war neither side ever quite calls by its real name, the people caught in between — orbits around that one relationship. I'll get into all of it here over time. But I wanted the first thing you read on this site to be about the two people the rest of it is built to protect.
